NOURISH THE SKIN YOU'RE IN
Today it's talented artist and all round beauty, Anna Elizabeth Wheelhouse sharing with us, her top tips to nourish the skin you're in.
1. What do you do as part of a regular routine to look after yourself?
I exfoliate regularly and use pure moisturisers as I have very dry skin. I use a lot of abrasive materials in my work and chemicals so I try to keep the chemicals in my lotions etc to a minimum.
2. What are the key things you have found that nurture self-nourishment?
Planning! I am currently working for four separate projects and running two businesses, so I have to plan ahead to make sure I eat well, relax for part of the day and keep up a beauty routine. We eat loads of veg in our house and try to make healthy choices so I would definitely say planning is paramount as if you have nothing good in, you make bad choices!
3. What could you do more of to nourish the skin you're in?
Have more free time to do it! Have longer baths instead of quick showers. I'd like to experiment with more products for my skin but have to be very careful to make sure it doesn't irritate as my skin is very sensitive. It's difficult when you have little free time to source new suppliers of natural products and little time to go and buy it, but I would certainly try out more products.
4. What top tips have you got to give others around your working life to stay on top?
Make time for yourself, plan well, be organised!
5. What are the things you couldn't live without that are key to your happiness and nourishment?
Wine and time to relax. Time spent with friends and family and rest days are priceless when you are running your own business. It is too easy to spend all your time working and not focusing on what is really important which is family and friends and you!!.. I also absolutely love Dudu Osun Pure Tropical black soap.. It is the best thing in the world for my skin. As I work with my hands all the time and they are 'working hands' it is my secret weapon to not looking like I work down a mine!!
